While Browsing the Positive Luxury website looking for brands that could possibly help us with our ethical Christmas shopping list we very excitedly came across the very talented Tamasyn Gambell. Of course the fact that Diana studied with Tamasyn at Chelsea collage of art meant there was a teeny weeny bit of bias and some mega excitement 😉
After completing her degree Tamasyn then went on to study at the Royal Collage and experimented with interior and fashion prints. Having worked in Paris for high-end companies such as Louis Vuitton, and Sonia Rykiel, and high street brand H&M as a women’s-wear print designer, Tamasyn felt frustrated with the amount of waste and lack of innovation. This was the turning point for Tamasyn and she then decided to embark on setting up her own company to design and produce high quality, timeless design using the most eco friendly methods available.
As you all know we do love a brand with a purpose, with quality and design also being a major focal point. We certainly believe that just because a brand is ethical, sustainable or Eco friendly there certainly doesn’t need to be a compromise on design and Tamasyn Gambell certainly doesn’t fall short.
Made up of a small team based in London, all their fabrics are sourced from the UK and Europe. They hand screen print their bespoke range of homeware in South London using water based pigments. Their larger mainline products are screen printed by a small family run factory in Europe.
If you are looking for a stocking filler then their lavender pouches are a perfect gift. Other fun small gifts are their pouches and soft pots. We are in love with the bright bold colours of the designs and quirky colour combinations. They are bound to brighten up any dull space in your home or office. Their cushions and lampshades are absolutely gorgeous and they come in a number of print designs so there really is something to suit your particular taste.
Supporting local business is also key to the brand. Their linen cushions are made up by a social project in East London. Working with members of the community with mental health issues the workshop provides training in commercial sewing and a platform for future employment. Their lampshade are all made up by two ladies in Kent who have over twenty years of experience in making bespoke lampshades.
So if you are looking for the perfect Christmas gift that is not only gorgeous but is made with a purpose in mind then you really need to check out their full collection here.
